Learn how to sew and design your own clothes
using the Kids Can Sew® and Fashion Design program for teens ages 13 - 17. In these classes, you will learn all the sewing basics:

  • Operation of the Sewing Machine
  • Fabric Layout
  • Cutting
  • Casings
  • Hemming
  • Facings and Much More!

Each student will receive a pattern pack filled with projects designed for the first time sewer. Master the techniques by learning how to sew these basic projects; then express yourself and have fun by choosing your own fabric, adding your own details,
trims, etc. . . be creative, be trendy, be YOU.

Teen Class Descriptions

Patterns with teens in mindTeens Level #1 (11 Projects)

Learn the basics: operation of the sewing machine, fabric layout, cutting, elastic casings, hemming, facings and much more. Projects include: back slit denim skirt, boat neck blouse, nightshirt, pants, round neck blouse, shorts, draw string bag, hair bunchie, lipstick holder, belt and notions bag.

After all the projects in Level 1 are completed, you can re-design the basic patterns from your original sketches. Easy-to-sew store bought patterns are introduced as well. Then graduate in to the You Can Make It program where you will learn advanced sewing skills for ages 18 and up.

Class fee includes:

  • 1st Pattern Pack with 7 – 9 months of projects
  • Sewing machines
  • Sewing equipment and tools
