Youth / Teen Classes

About the Program

Hands-On Learning in a Nurturing, Small-Class Environment

At Making It SewFun, our youth and teen programs are built around project-based learning. Students don’t just practice techniques — they complete real projects: garments, crafts, gifts, and home décor items they’re proud to bring home.

Each child progresses at their own pace with personalized attention from instructors who genuinely care about their growth — not just their output.

Maximum 4 students per instructor — every child gets real, individual attention in every class.

Rolling enrollment — register anytime throughout the year and join the next available session. No waiting until September.

Materials included — all materials are provided for each project when using Making It SewFun patterns. More advanced students using commercial patterns will need to purchase their own fabric and supplies; a note with requirements is sent home in advance.

Small class sizes — every student gets seen and supported

Annual Fashion Show — students model what they made on the runway

Community service projects — students give back through sewing

Summer Sewing Camp — available for all skill levels

Recommended

Full-Year Enrollment

Full Season

Commit to the full year and secure your child’s spot. Best for returning students who want consistent, uninterrupted progress.

Either way, your child receives the same personalized instruction, the same structured curriculum, and the same small-class experience. The difference is simply how far ahead you plan.

How Enrollment Works

What You Need to Know Before You Register

We want enrollment to feel easy and transparent — no surprises. Here’s how tuition and materials work.

Tuition Calculation

Monthly tuition is calculated based on eight months rather than the number of weeks within a month. This ensures a consistent, predictable monthly cost all year long — no higher months, no lower ones. Tuition is prorated to account for holidays.

Registration Fee

An annual registration fee of $20 is due at the time of enrollment. This applies to both block and full-year students and is collected once per school year.

Auto-Pay

Auto-Pay is available to reserve your child’s spot for upcoming sessions automatically — no gaps in enrollment between sessions.

Materials & Supplies

All materials are included when students work with Making It SewFun’s project patterns. More advanced students who choose to work with commercial sewing patterns will need to purchase their own fabric and supplies. A note with project requirements will be sent home in advance.

Students may also choose to purchase their own fabric even when using our patterns — a supply list will always be provided.
